CAPSULE REVIEW

Inevitably dated now, but still very funny, The Young Ones was the British cult comedy TV show of the early Eighties, launching the careers of some of the talents that would dominate British comedy throughout the rest of the decade. Politically committed, visually arresting and thoroughly anarchic, it owes a debt to Spike Milligan's Q series and of course the mighty Monty Python, but it fashioned its own unique identity that made it the must-see event of 1982.
