SUMMARY
A gang of ruthless international terrorists plan
to kidnap the son of a wealthy couple. But once they get inside the
family's house, they find themselves being picked off one-by-one by
the boy's pet, a deadly Black Mamba snake.
CAPSULE REVIEW
Tobe Hooper certainly knew what he was doing when
he backed out of this dismal effort. The snake outacts all comers and
the all-star cast is utterly defeated by the tepid script. Piers Haggard
had already proved himself a more than capable director with the excellent
Blood on Satan's Claw (1971) and the hit TV series
Pennies From Heaven (1978) and Quatermass
(1978). But sadly, even he was unable to make Robert Carrington's po-faced
script seem believable or even interesting. Just how anyone could take
a Black Mamba, with that hideous 180° bite radius and a natural revulsion
for such creatures inherent in a large part of their audience and then
make that monstrous creature seem dull is anyone's guess. Amazing...
