Inevitably, it gets loose and chaos reigns. CAPSULE REVIEW
We've seen it all before of course (most
obviously in King
Kong (1933)) but when
it's done with so much panache and good humour, who cares? Harryhausen's
dinosaur is the real star of the show of course and it's suitably
scary. As dinosaurs-vs-the- civilised world tales go, it beats The
Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) hands down.

CENSORSHIP HISTORYAustralia Rating: PG UK Rating: A (1969); 12 (1995) In 1969, the BBFC imposed some cuts, but there are no details as to what those cuts were - it's likely that they were in the scene where the dinosaur attacks the elephant. USA Rating: G Some local TV stations have been known to remove the in which Gwangi attacks and kills an elephant on the grounds of animal cruelty. TIMELINE
