PLOT SUMMARY

For 22 years, Norman Bates has been living in a high security psychiatric facility. But now he's been released, declared sane by the State of California, and given a 2nd chance. He returns home to the motel he shared with his moter. Soon the bodies are starting to pile up and this time, Norman's sure he isn't the killer…

CAPSULE REVIEW

Unnecessary sequel to the Hitchcock classic made in the midst of the slasher boom of the late 70s / early 80s. However there's an intriguing is he / isn't he plot, some decent set pieces that play well on the audiences knowledge of the original and Franklin directs with a fast pace and a sense of style. Could have been a lot worse.
