SUMMARY
A veteran marshal arrives on Io, one of the moons
of Jupiter, to take up a new assignment keeping law and order in a mining
colony. When some ofthe miners wind up dead after taking an illegal
drug designed to increase their productivity, he finds himself crossing
the paths of the colony's ruthless manager. A team of assassins are
sent to kill the marshal, who finds himself alone and fighting for his
life.
CAPSULE REVIEW
High Noon in space it might be, but this is a fun
piece nontheless, mainly thanks to the gravitas it gains from Connery's
excellent performance. As the clock ticks away to the arrival of the
killers, Hyams racks up the tension well. No masterpiece, but very watchable
all the same.
