SUMMARY

A team of animal liberation activists raid a secret laboratory and free some apes who have been infected with a powerful virus. 28 days later, Jim wakes from a coma to find London apparently deserted. But before long he stumbles across the "infected", the blood crazed survivors of the apocalypse who have been driven violently insane by the disease. Jim teams up with other survivors to try to find sanctuary in the north of the country.

CAPSULE REVIEW

An excellent amalgam of old ideas [mostly taken from Day of the Triffids, Apocalypse Now and Romero's zombie trilogy] given some new spins by the Trainspotting team. The opening scenes in a deserted London are remarkably eerie and the climactic running battle between various factions is brilliantly done. Add to this an outstanding score and top notch performances amd you've got the best British horror film in years. [Full Review]
