Michael G. Wilson (1943 - ) Date of Birth:
1943 The step son of the late James Bond franchise producer Albert R. Broccoli, Wilson has been joint guardian of the series - along with step-sister Barbara Broccoli - since the series' resurecction in the mid-1990s, though his association with the franchise dates back to the early days. A native New Yorker, Wilson originally trained to become a lawyer at Stanford and even took a post as a partner in a well-respected law firm based in both Washington and New York. But before long, his step-father's business proved too alluring - while still studying, Wilson had taken an uncredited role as assistant director on Goldfinger (1964), though it wasn't until 1972 that he joined Eon Productions, the company founded by Broccoli and partner Harry Saltzman, initially in a legal and administrative capacity. Wilson began taking a more active role in the series in 1977 when he acted as his step-father's assistant on The Spy Who Loved Me before stepping up to executive producer on Moonraker (1979), For Your Eyes Only (1981) and Octopussy (1983). He then worked alongside Broccoli to produce A View to a Kill (1985), The Living Daylights (1987)and Licence to Kill (1989). Following Broccoli's death after the 'comeback' movie Goldeneye (1995), Wilson inherited Eon Productions and, with Barbara Broccoli, successfully oversaw the franchises return to form and continues to guide its fortunes. 1964 1977 1979 1981 1983 1985 1987 1989 1994 1995 1997 1999 2002 SEE
