SUMMARY
A group of friends celebrating a birthday in a remote Scottish manor
house are cut off by a severe snowstorm. But they find a book that relates
the tale of Murray, a patriot who was gruesomely murdered by the English
when they invaded. Seeing his chance to exact revenge on the English
now gathered in the house, the spirit of Murray returns from the grave
and begins possessing the guests...
CAPSULE REVIEW
Promoted
as "Peter's Friends meets The Others",
it was not asking too much to expect Nine Lives to
be an old fashioned ghost story. Instead, it's a badly acted tale of
a group of deeply unlikeable 20-somethings being possessed by a vengeful
spirit in a bog-standard slasher movie. Director Andrew Green pulls
off a few decent scares but is let down by a poorly paced script - the
first 20 minutes or so is painfully dull - some dreadful dialogue and
by truly terrible performances. [Full
