SUMMARY

An archaeological expedition discovers the tomb of an ancient Egyptian child prince, the remains of which they return to London. But the reading of magic words on the prince's burial shroud animates a vengeful mummy that starts to massacre the members of the expedition.

CAPSULE REVIEW

Something of a disappointment from Gilling, who seemed hampered by the fact that there's very little you can actually do with a mummy on screen. There are some creepy moments and some great performances, particularly from Michael Ripper and John Phillips, but this is second-rate Hammer, talky, reminiscent of earlier, better films and lacking in any sense of urgency or pace.
