PLOT SUMMARY

Professor George Challenger leads an expedition to a lost world in South America. Taking with him Lord Roxton heiress Marguerite Krux and skeptical scientist Professor Summerlee. But having escaped from headhunters in a hot air balloon, they find himself stranded on a remote plateau when a thunderstorm forces them to land. They meet Veronica, a beautiful young woman who has lived on the plateau since her parents disappeared when she was eleven years old. The explorers are going to need all of Veronica's skills to survive this strange new world.

CAPSULE REVIEW

Australian made TV series (with Canadian money) based on Arthur Conan Doyle's story of an expedition to a South American plateau where dinosaurs still roam. Designed to cash in on Jurassic Park (1993) with an eye on the Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (1995 - 1999) audience it sticks relatively closely to the character make up of the novel even if none of them shine. The CGI is a just about adequate and encountering yet another undiscovered variety of dinosaur gets rather samey, though when they try to vary the plots it goes horribly wrong.
