Mankind's only hope is to send a spaceship, the Jupiter II, through a stargate to a distant galaxy in search of a new home for humanity. But the mission is sabotaged by Dr Smith and the crew of the ship - the Robinson family and their pilot Major Don West - are thrown off course and find themselves lost in space. CAPSULE REVIEW Another big budget, big screen and originality-free remake of a television series that wasn't that great to begin with. Dull, plotless and hopelessly miscast (with the sole exception of Gary Oldman), Lost in Space is just another in the long line of special effects extravaganzas trading on nostalgia and getting it all so terribly wrong. Only Apollo 440's cracking take on the theme tune comes out of this mess with any credibility.
