Krocodylus [2000]

'Man, this is gonna be better than ... what was the name of that shark flick?' A cluttered terror-by-beast epic, which needs to drop in extraneous shark and pirate attacks to stretch its elementary plot to feature length. A small group head out to the remote waters of Lilo Cay to make a documentary about the dangerous sport of bloodsurfing [which involves the surfers cutting their feet so they can barrel through waters full of hungry sharks] but come up against a 'saltie', a thirty-foot-long saltwater crocodile that which sharks as if they were whitebait and chomps its way through the supporting cast with monotonous regularity. Duncan Regehr takes the Robert Shaw role as the vengeance-seeking skipper who has become a drunk since the croc cut short his career as a tour guide by eating his customers, but has too little to do as the young, bland cast run through the usual wisecracking, screwing-around and screaming. Directed by James D.R. Hickox.
