Dykket [1989] Here's a funny thing: a deepsea suspense movie without any monsters,
aliens, nuclear weapons, ridiculous characterisations, exploding heads,
giant prawns or wet t-shirts. Two oil riggers are trapped in a damaged
bell off the coats of Norway and, while the traditional storm rages
above, the nail-chewing topsiders try to get them up. It's a simple
storyline, neatly embroidered and expertly played by an unfamiliar anglo-Norwegian
cast. Unlike the Americans trapped in other undersea movies, everyone
here chokes back their emotions and avoids overacting, taking their
predicament with Scott-of-the-Antarctic-like dignity. First Published In: Empire [issue unknown] Visit Kim's Official Website at www.johnnyalucard.com
