Doctor Who: The Savages (1966)

"This is my RV, you know ... my Reacting Vibrator."

This rather ordinary Doctor Who serial is another morality exercise dressed up as science fiction, set on a planet where two races exist: an advanced society and a bunch of skin-wearing savages. Of course, it turns out that the former are using a vampire-like machine to drain the energy of the latter, and the Doctor and his sidekicks overthrow the rotten system, with Steven (Peter Purves) getting out of the series by opting to stay behind at the end and supervise the new order. Oddly, female characters were got rid of through love interests while male companions tended to get sidetracked by a new mission. William Hartnell hasn't much to do, Jackie Lane's Dodo was perceived to be a dud (and would be written out almost before she really got a character to play) and the guest cast are mainly barking stereotypes in either faction (Ewen Solon, Frederick Jaeger). This only exists as an audio recording, so it's hard to judge what the two societies looked like; evidently, it was one of the first Whos to use the later-ubiquitous quarry location.
