Butterfly Kiss (1995) Audacious and irritating in roughly equal parts, this is a bold attempt
to make a British road movie, with body-pierced bisexual serial murderess
Amanda Plummer trailing dumpy, shut-in services counter girl Saskia
Reeves around the motorways and lay-bys of the North of England. They
meet a variety of quirky British drudges and Amanda kills them, while
Saskia hopes glumly that the mass murderess will get better. Both actresses
do sterling and revealing work but are undone by niggles: Plummer by
an accent that comes and goes and Reeves by an innate intelligence that
makes her attempt at stupidity seem mannered. First Published In: Empire (issue unknown) Visit Kim's Official Website at www.johnnyalucard.com
