Best of the Best II (1993) When Christopher Penn is beaten to death by hulking gladiator Ralph
Moeller in a Las Vegas fighting club called the Colosseum, his best
friends Eric Roberts and Philip Rhee vow to get even. Switching from
the sport movie storyline of Best of the Best - which was about the
US national karate team - this is a formulaic grunt and strain and grapple
picture, with brutally nasty villains (including an oily Wayne Newton),
a tiresome and sidelined heroine (Meg Foster) and decent in the ring
action. Martial arts movies (see also Shootfighter) are becoming interchangable
