Amityville: Dollhouse (1997)

'Don't worry, it only hurts forever.' Another entry in the attenuated DTV series. A new house is built on the burned-out site of the Amityville Horror house, and the usual struggling Dad (Robin Thomas) discovers a dollhouse replica of the famously haunted mansion ('it's a portal, it's the welcome mat to Hell'), wherupon its windows light up, smoke pours from the chimney and evil spreads through the dysfunctional family. Mom (Starr Andreeff) is attracted to her basketball-playing stepson, Dad has bad dreams, a geeky kid from Mom's first marriage is visited by the rotting zombie of his dead father, the rebel son's girlfriend's hair catches fire and the little girl who is given the dollhouse does a Poltergeist disappearing act and has to be rescued from pathetic demons in limbo by a handy occultist biker brother-in-law who sacrifices himself to save the rest. Punchline: 'next time, let's just rent.' Directed by Steve White.
