PLOT SUMMARY
In the year 1999, Earth's authorities
have contained the many monsters that once threatened the world on
Monster Island. But the alien Kilaaks release the creatures as a prelude
to their planned invasion and soon New York, London and Paris are
being demolished. As the creatures converge on Tokyo, the valiant
crew of the spaceship X-2 manage to infiltrate the alien base on the
moon and the Kilaaks deploy their ultimate weapon – King Ghidorah!
CAPSULE REVIEW
The apex of the Japanese monster movie, with more giant eterrors
than you can shake a stick at, strange aliens and – in the English
language versions at least – a hilarious dub. Shakespeare's
got nothing to worry about, but if all you want is lots of stuntmen
in rubber monster suits trampling model cities and fighting each other
(and, really, what more could you want?), this is the best
it gets. A classic.
