RANDOM RAMBLINGS

Well, the move to the new server went swimmingly and with the bare minimum of screaming, yelling and blood pressure freak-outs. The new version of the site is now up and running (though hidden from view for now!) and data is being loaded, the functionality tested and the new image finalised. I'm on track for having it ready for launch on Monday 7 July as promised. So as work continues, there's another small update this week and the same will likely be true for the June update, the last for this particular incarnation of the site. Enjoy what little there is for this month and be here on Monday 4 June for more news of how the update is going.

THE EOFFTV WORLD OF HORROR

The grand tour is off and running again as we cross the alps into Austria. Not a huge amount of horror films to offer but there are a few variations of well worn themes and even the odd title you may recognise…

FEATURED FILM

Before George Lucas changed the face of big screen science fiction (for better or for worse) with Star Wars, he made THX 1138, a more thoughtful, intelligent and interesting stab at SF.

FEATURED TELEVISION

The Owl Service, first broadcast in 1969, is a stunning supernatural chiller, recently released on UK DVD. Check out our production notes which include contributions from star Gillian Hills, also seen in the likes of Blowup (1966), A Clockwork Orange (1971) and Demons of the Mind (1972).

KEV'S CUPBOARD

This week the Cupboard offers up the eye-searing spectacle of psychedelic animation with a clutch of Beatles connections in the weird but really rather wonderful television special The Point (1971).
