PLOT SUMMARY
Test pilot Tuck Pendleton is taking part in a revolutionary miniaturization
experiment when he's accidentally injected into the hypochondriac Jack
Putter when the project is attacked by terrorists. With Tuck's oxygen
running out, the Jack has to find a way to retrieve the equipment stolen
by the raiders that will restore the pilot to his normal size before
it's too late.
CAPSULE REVIEW
After the commercial failure of Explorers (1985),
Dante fled back to the safety of Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment for
whom he'd previously shot the rather more successful Gremlins
(1984). There he shot the flawed but fun Innerspace,
a brash big budget remake of Fantastic Voyage (1966).
Quaid gives a likeable, rogueish performance and even Short is more
tolerable than usual.Great effects, excellent direction and a very fun
script make this a lightweight but fun romantic comedy.
