PLOT SUMMARY

Set some years before the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark, this film teams Indiana Jones with night club singer Willie Scott and 12 year old Short Round as they try to free a group of Indian children held as slaves. Indy comes up against a violent cult who have stolen the villagers' sacred stone.

CAPSULE REVIEW

The disappointing second part of the Indiana Jones trilogy is spoiled by silly factual mistakes, irritating supporting characters, a dull story and some out of place violence. Harrison Ford does his best but even he doesn't really look that comfortable here and Spielberg's direction is far from his most inspired. Thankfully, the series got back on its feet again with the excellent third installment, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989).
