Nicholas Clay (Jack Stapleton / Sir Hugo Baskerville / bearded man) David Langton (Sir Charles Baskerville - uncredited) SUMMARY Sherlock Holmes and Dr John Watson are called upon to investigate the mystery of the giant hound, apparently on the loose on Dartmoor, that supposedly stalks the Baskerville family. Along the way, they uncover a strange family plot that dates back several generations. CAPSULE REVIEW The second and sadly last of Sy Weintraub's excellent television adaptations of the Sherlock Holmes stories. Not as good as The Sign of Four (1983), The Hound of the Baskervilles is nonetheless a fine adaptation, emphasizing the horror elements more than most versions. Once again, Ian Richardson is fantastic as Holmes, though sadly, Donald Churchill is no match for The Sign of Four's Donald Healy. TIMELINE
