PLOT SUMMARY
Peter Pan has grown up
to be a successful lawyer, with no memory of who he
really is. He's now married to Wendy's granddaughter and
has his own kids. But his comfortable life is turned on
its head when Captain Hook kidnaps his children and
Tinkerbell comes to take him home Never Land - but will
he be able to remember who he really is in time to save
the children from the dastardly Hook?
CAPSULE REVIEW
Spielberg at his very
worst - sentimental, sugary and embarrassing. Robin
Williams is deeply irritating here, allowed to overact
and gush in that annoyingly mawkish way he seems to have
made his own. Julia Roberts does little better in a
terrible turn as Tinkerbell and only Dustin Hoffman's
over-the-top, camp histrionics as Hook saves the day.
Thankfully Spielberg recovered and went on to the much
better Jurassic Park (1993) and the same
year's outstanding Schindler's List.
