SUMMARY

Following her encounter with the cenobites, Kirsty Cotton is committed to a psychiatric hospital under the care of psychiatrist Dr Channard. But Channard has his own agenda and is looking for a dorway to Hell and when he obtains the bloodstained mattress where Julia died, he's able to revive her. Julia leads Channard into Hell and Kirsty follows, hoping to free her father's tortured soul...

CAPSULE REVIEW

A disappointing sequel to the original Hellraiser [1987]. The story is confused and ultimately goes nowhere and the direction lacks the subtlety of Barker's original work. The impressive set design and make up effects prevent it from being completely unwatchable, but they're not really enough to elevate the film to the rarified levels of excellence achieved by its predecessor.
