CAPSULE REVIEW
Harry Enfield's first major TV series set the tone
for just about all of his subsequent work to date. There's a heavy reliance
on catchphrases and repetition that makes repeated viewings rather dull,
but at the time this was good stuff, full of memorable characters and
genuinely funny gags. Enfield's greatest strength is being able to submerge
his own personality behind his characters so much that we forget it's
him playing them and the characters consequently take on lives of their
own.
