PLOT SUMMARY

As Tokyo's pollution problem grows steadily worse, a new monster emerges from the slime - Hedrah, the smog monster. It immediately sets about laying waste to Tokyo and only Godzilla can prevent it from completely destroying the whole of Japan.

CAPSULE REVIEW

Surely the strangest of all the Godzilla films, with its surreal animated cutaways, psychedelic nightclub scenes and half-baked ecological message. The sight of Godzilla flying has purists in uproar and non-fans will likely be unimpressed by the muddled script, tatty Godzilla suit and dreadful music. But die-hard kaiju fans will find plenty to enjoy in this second-division but still very enjoyable entryt in the long running franchise, one that doesn't really deserve the appalling reputation it's had to suffer.
