PLOT SUMMARY

A black hole crashes to Earth in Wisconsin unleashing a massive, carniverous spider that is soon on the rampage. A pair of NASA scientists try to save the day before the creature destroys the whole town.

CAPSULE REVIEW

A completely mad and over-ambitious attempt to do a giant spider movie with a budget that Ed Wood would have dismissed as derisory. The acting is atrocious and the direction virtually non-existance, but the spider itself is worth every penny of a DVD rental - built over a VW Beetle that is plainly visible in several scenes, this astonishingly awful effect is a wonderful sight with its spindly legs flapping uselessly as it trundles around the Wisconsin countryside. The rest of the film is unwatchable, but see it at least once just for the spider.
