PLOT SUMMARY
A collection of eight ghost stories, mostly adapted from the short
stories of M.R. James that
were aired over the Christmas holidays over eight consecutive years.
CAPSULE REVIEW
A great British Christmas tradition (the individuals episodes were
repeated a number of times and there were other, unrelated ghost stories),
the BBC Christmas ghost story reached its zenith with these eight extremely
creepy tales. Subtle yet frequently terrifying, they were the perfect
antidote to the Christmas excesses and remain extremely effective even
now.
