His plans for domination of the entire world are set back when he learns that Christ has been reborn somewhere in the UK. As he and his minions begin a horrific extermination of newly born children, seven monks from a secret order are closing in him, carrying with them sacred daggers that can kill the Antichrist. CAPSULE REVIEW The initial Omen trilogy (the franchise was further and needlessly extended on television) came to a disappointing end with this anti-climactic mess. The apocalyptic struggle hinted at by the title fails to materialise (the ending is a damp squib) and there's little in the way of suspense. Sam Neill is, as ever, excellent as the adult Damien, but is burdened with terrible dialogue and poor motivation - only his creepy rant at a statue of Christ carries any real sense of menace. There's very real feeling that the production team simply ran out of ideas by the time the ludicrous finale comes around.
