A woman terrified of being raped murders a car mechanic after seeing messages on the readout of an engine timing device... Mulder and Scully investigate.

CAPSULE REVIEW

A cautionary tale of corporate greed and ecological neglect in this understated and effective episode. Blood is a refreshingly off-beat look at two of The X Files' favourite concerns - conspiracies and ecological abuse, a more down to earth episode than most The X Files, continuing in the ecologically derived vein begun in The Host. No little green men, giant fluke worms or elastic limbed cannibals - just the appalling monstrosity of corporate indifference and the obscenity of economic power, Blood is a solid mystery thriller, more rooted in the everyday that the previous season two episodes, and all the better for it.
