SUMMARY

Lister learns how to read Cat's books [by sniffing them!] and discovers the truth behind his position as the Cat race's god and what indeed became of his followers. He meets the only other survivor of the Cat race, a blind, dying priest and restores his faith in the legend of Cloister the Stupid. Rimmer, meanwhile, is convinced that he's captured an alien space pod and is awaiting the emergence of the creatures he has dubbed the Quagaars. But he's neglected to read the label on the side of the pod...

CAPSULE REVIEW

The highlight of season one offering everything from the potted history of the Cat race, the second coming of Cloister the Stupid and Rimmer's grandest humiliation to date. It introduced Rimmer's obsession with finding aliens and gave something of a back story for Cat. An extremely funny episode, though it's sad that we never saw any of the other members of the Cat race again.
