SUMMARY

The crew finally losing their patience with the increasingly senile Holly. Having failed to warn them of their impending collision with a meteorite and the resultant [temporary] loss of Rimmer's legs, Holly is 'switched off' and the back up personality, Queeg 500, is introduced as his replacement. Holly is demoted to night watchman as Queeg introduces a brutal new regime of physical exercise and by-the-book discipline. Eventually, Holly challenges Queeg to a came of chess, the loser to be switched off permanently...

CAPSULE REVIEW

The weakest of the second series episodes. The final revelation is really all there is to this rather feeble episode. There are a few decent bits along the way but really this just a one-gag show, one that wasn't that great to begin with. It was certainly nice to see Holly exert himself for a change and come out with the upper hand [and his dying rendition of Goodbye to Love is a classic moment] but the situation simply wasn't enough to fill out a half hour episode without considerable padding.
