SUMMARY

The crew fall prey to a polymorph, a genetically engineered, shape-changing monster that feeds on human emotions. Lister has his fear stolen, Cat loses his sense of pride, Kryten no longer feels any guilt and Rimmer's loss of anger transforms him into a tree-hugging wimp. In this state can any of them come up with a sensible plan to defeat the polymorph?

CAPSULE REVIEW

The all-time greatest Red Dwarf episode, bar none. The transformations of the familiar characters into their new selves is hilarious [particularly Rimmer's new, Rolf Harris like persona] though the polymorph itself is a rather tatty model. Still, the intentionally ludicrous dialogue ["I say we get out there and twat it!"] more than makes up for that. A classic, nothing less.

CENSORSHIP HISTORY

UK
When shown on UK Gold on 11 August 2001, Lister's line "I say we get out there and twat it!" was reduced to a non-sensical "I say we get out there." This may have happened on earlier UK Gold broadcasts too.
