PLOT SUMMARY

But they soon discover other things to worry about as they and a handful of drilling technicians stationed on the planet discover something impossibly old and evil stirring beneath the planet surface...

CASPULE REVIEW

A massive improvement over last week's underwhelming The Idiot's Lantern and one of the best episodes in the new incarnation of Doctor Who. Though it owes a lot to both Alien (1979) and Event Horizon (1997), it's also creepy, beautifully paced and designed and something of a welcome return to the old base-under-siege format of classic Who. The excellent cast help no end too.
