SUMMARY

The Doctor and Rose arrive back in London in time to see an alien spacecraft crash into the Thames, demolishing part of the Palace of Westminster as it goes. But not everything is quite as it seems, particularly the group of high-ranking politicians who gather to deal with the situation...

CAPSULE REVIEW

The first stumble for the new series. After the Gothic grimness of The Unquiet Dead, unconvincing farting aliens just don't cut the mustard. There are some great moments - the alien ship's close encounter with the Houses of Parliament, the alien pig, Penelope Wilton - but the pacing is all over the place, the Slitheen monsters are pretty hopeless and there are way too many unfunny fart gags. A disappointment.
