PLOT SUMMARY

Scientists are disappearing from UNIT HQ and journalists Sarah Jane Smith attempts to uncover the truth. Whisked away in the TARDIS back to the Middle Ages she and The Doctor learn a crash landed Sontaran Linx is responsible for the kidnappings.

First appearance of the Sontarans and for that most favourite of companions Elisabeth Sladen. Touted as a new kind of independent female she was soon tripping over and screaming like all the others. In an off-hand comment the Doctor's home planet is first revealed as Gallifrey. The new opening titles, the first total revision since the programme's inception, look amazing and may be the series' best. The Doctor's new mode of transport nicknamed the Who Mobile and the brain child of Pertwee may not be.
