SUMMARY
The Doctor and his travelling companions arrive in London in the 22nd
century to find that the Earth has been overrun by the Daleks. With
their army of Robeomen, humans turned into zombie-like slaves, they
are planning to remove the Earth's core and fit a powerful drive system
that will enable them to steer the planet like a spaceship. The Doctor
teams up with a desperate band of freedom fighters to try to prevent
the Daleks from succeeding.
CAPSULE REVIEW
An absolute corker, one of the very best stories in the entire history
of the show. The sight of Daleks rumbling ominously around the streets
of London are as powerful now as they were in 1964 and the cliffhanger
at the climax of World's End is wonderful. The extensive
location shooting gives the story a realistic edge and the excellent
performances all round are enough to distract one away from the occassional
below par effect shot. A bona fide Who classic.
