PLOT SUMMARY

New York hospital doctor Guy Luthan begins to investigate the mysterious disappearance of the body of a man who died on the operating table. He discovers that surgeon Dr Lawrence Myrick is somehow involved, but the true nature of the mystery is far more horrific than Luthan could ever have imagined.

CAPSULE REVIEW

An effective if derivative thriller (it owes an awful lot to Coma (1978)) that manages to overcome the dubious attraction of Hugh Grant as the leading man with another fine showing from the ever-wonderful Gene Hackman. Michael Apted keeps his audiences guessing and maintains the suspense and mystery well. Nothing outstanding, but a decent thriller worthy of a DVD rental.
