PLOT SUMMARY

In the year 2047, the spaceship Event Horizon is found drifting seven years after it disappeared with all its crew presumed lost. A salvage team, including the ship's designer, is sent to see what's left of it. But they soon come to realise that the ship has been into a parallel universe and that it has brought something back with it, something that seems bent on destroying them all...

CAPSULE REVIEW

A much under-rated film that's not without it's faults (it tends to meander about a little in the middle, as if writer Philip Eisner lost his way rather, and there's a worrying tendency to borrow most of the best bits from other films) but which overall works better than its detractors would give it credit for. The special effects are once again the star and Paul Anderson does well to generate a creepy atmosphere and keep things moving nicely, even when Eisner's script loses the plot.
