Bryn Walters, Ben Wright, Brian Claxton Payne [werewolves] Villrikke's Acer [Sam the dog] SUMMARY A group of soldiers on a NATO training exercise in a remote part of Scotland are attacked by a pack of werewolves. They're rescued by a young woman and they all seek refuge in a remote and seemingly abandoned farmhouse. But as they try to fend off repeated attacks by the wolf pack, they also face enemies within... CAPSULE REVIEW British werewolf films are a rare breed. Good ones are rarer still and Dog Soldiers is one of those very few. Marshall's confident direction belies his relative lack of experience [this was his first feature film as director] as he makes excellent use of the unusual Scottish locations and coaxes strong performances from his cast. The wolf pack is, wisely, only seen in tantalising glimpses and all the scarier for it. Easily the best British horror film since Dust Devil [1991].
