PLOT SUMMARY

A clip-packed tribute to the long running Doctor Who, full of interviews, recreations and rare footage.

CAPSULE REVIEW

Initially released as a disappointing 50 minute version on TV, the expanded version crammed in a mass of new material and emerged as a wonderfgul tribute to the good Doctor. Packed to the gills with excellent interviews, first rate re-enactments of favourite Who moments and plenty of rare and previously unseen footage, the tape is cleverly passed off as a three part story, complete with individual chapter titles and advert breaks featuring commercials taken from Australian TV as well as the big screen. Included in the mix are silent home movie clips of William Hartnell appearing, in character, at an air show and there are plentiful clips from Crackerjack (1955 - 1984), Blue Peter (1958 - ) and Pebble Mill (1973 - 1986). Behind the scenes footage reveals the making of the Peter Davison / Colin Baker regeneration, Sophie Aldred's brush with death during the making of Battlefield, a clutch of gaffs and off-camera silliness and priceless footage of various Doctors and companions in rehearsals. Add to that previously unseen footage from Battlefield and newly rediscovered footage from previously missing stories and you have the definitive Doctor Who tribute, the ideal companion for any armchair time traveller.
