SUMMARY

In 1996, convicted serial killer Phoenix is cryogenically frozen as part of his punishment. In the near future, he's thawed out on parole and finds himself in a society where crime has been eradicated and where there are no police to stop him from picking up where he left off. As luck would have it, the cop who caught him in 1996, John Spartan, was also frozen for a crime he didn't commit and is revived to help capture Phoenix again.

CAPSULE REVIEW

A rarity - a watchable Sylvester Stallone film... A fun and satirical movie that gives Wesley Snipes a good opportunity to show what he's really capable of and Stallone the chance to send himself up. There's little here that we haven't seen before but the pace never flags and the humour is often genuinely funny and the two leads are perfectly suited, playing off each other to great effect.
