12 years after filming of horror movie Hot Blooded
was abandoned following the murder of its director, a group of film
students decide to finish it. But they're soon being killed off one-by-one
and the culprit seems to be the masked villain of Hot Blooded, the surgical
shears wielding Scarman.
CAPSULE REVIEW
Another post-modern slasher that's not quite as funny or as clever as it thinks it is, Cut is nevertheless preferable to the increasingly irrelevant Scream sequels, the third of which it most closely resembles with its film-making milieu. Good to see Australian horror back in business though, even if it is just in another film that tries to disguise lack of originality as irony.
