PLOT SUMMARY
An anthology of three horror stories. Old Chief Wood'nhead: a wooden
statue of an Indian warror comes to life looking for revenge; The Raft:
a group of teenagers are menaced by a carnivorous creature that lurks
on the surface of a remote lake; The Hitchhiker: a hit and run driver
is pursued by her victim who just won't stay dead.
CAPSULE REVIEW
A terrible follow-up to a fun original. All three of the stories are
far too long for their meagre plots, there's nothing even remotely scary
about any of them and Romero seems to have been directing in a coma.
The fact that all three stories were riffs on already well worn ideas
didn't help. The tone of the piece is captured perfectly in the first
few seconds by the animated Creep - with his cackling laugh, theatrical
posturing and doomy voice he's straight out of a children's horror story
and it's evident very quickly that Creepshow 2 is going to be even more
juvenile than its predecessor. Only the bad language gives any indication
that it was in fact aimed at an older audience. A waste of your time
and their talent.
