Children of the Damned [1963] Country of Origin: UK PRODUCTION SCRIPT DIRECTION PHOTOGRAPHY EDITING AND POST PRODUCTION MUSIC SOUND SPECIAL EFFECTS DESIGN AND SET CONSTRUCTION MISCELLANEOUS LOCATIONS CASTING CAST Five children with remarkable - possibly inhuman - intellectual and psychic powers are discovered by a group of scientists. But as the military cast their eager eye over the children, they escape and hide out in a church - the race is on to protect them before they can be used as weapons, or before the aithorities, terrified by their increasing powers, order their destruction. A cracking follow up to Village of the Damned [1960] which has little to do with the original beyond the notion of the intellectually superior children. Darker and grittier than the first film, it boasts top-notch performances from all involved, a deeper, more challenging script and suitably moody direction. One of a whole batch of British science fiction movies from the 1960s that deserves a long-overdue re-evaluation. UK USA UK 1963 So young, so innocent, so deadly - they came to conquer the world!
