PLOT SUMMARY

A documentary celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of Planet of the Apes (1968), tracing the genesis of the series from its roots as the novel La plančte des singes by Pierre Boulle. Interviews are included with many of the key players.

CAPSULE REVIEW

A commendable attempt to chart not only the making of one of the most popular of film series, but also to place the films in some sort of social and historical context. It's a rare thing of its kind in that you actually learn something new.
