PLOT SUMMARYThe Addams' are far from
your usual family - dark, morbid and obsessed with pain
and death, they shock their neighbours and any passing
visitors. But underneath it all, it seems, they're just
like the rest of us - they just happen to have a seven
foot tall butler and a disembodied hand running about the
place...
CAPSULE REVIEW
Sharp, witty and satirical, The Addams Family played
subtle and clever games with the already well-established model of US
television sitcoms. The cast are simply perfect, the scripts invariably
hilarious and the reactions of visitors to the Addams mansion a telling
indictment of the intolerance of some sectors of 50s American society.
